Trump Refuses to Reconcile with Musk Amid Tax Bill Dispute

President Donald Trump has stated he has no intention of mending his relationship with Elon Musk, even after the tech billionaire deleted several contentious posts from his X account. Trump told NBC News he has no plans to reconcile with Musk, whose relationship with the president soured this week. Trump accused Musk of being “disrespectful to the office of the President” and warned there would be “serious consequences” if Musk funded Democratic candidates opposing the president’s tax bill. The public dispute began when Musk criticized Trump’s tax bill, leading to a heated exchange on social media. Trump threatened to terminate Musk’s government contracts and subsidies, while Musk referenced Trump in the “Epstein files” in a now-deleted post. Musk has since deleted several incendiary posts, including those about the Epstein files and a video allegedly showing Trump with Epstein in the 1990s. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the importance of passing the tax bill, while Vice President JD Vance urged Musk to “chill out a little bit” and return to a better relationship with Trump.
