President Donald Trump has nominated Paul Ingrassia, a former podcast host known for his inflammatory remarks, to lead the U.S. Office of Special Counsel. Trump praised Ingrassia as a respected attorney, writer, and Constitutional Scholar, highlighting his role as White House Liaison for Homeland Security. Ingrassia, a far-right commentator, has made several controversial statements, including calling for Jan. 6 to be a national holiday and dismissing the Hamas attack on Israel as a “psyop.” He has also associated with controversial figures like Andrew Tate and Nick Fuentes, and called for the jailing of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Ingrassia, a Cornell Law graduate, has been active in conservative circles and at Trump rallies. His nomination requires Senate confirmation, and if appointed, he would head an agency tasked with protecting federal employees from prohibited personnel practices. Ingrassia expressed his commitment to restoring competence and integrity to the Executive Branch.
